OUR STORY
Tonewood Brewing is proudly family owned and operated, founded by brothers Eli and Taylor Facchinei along with parents Anne and Jim in June of 2016. The brothers had been intrigued with the art of brewing and began homebrewing at the family home in 2010, albeit barely drinkable homebrew.
During a stint living in Telluride, Colorado and still intrigued by the art of brewing, Eli found his way onto a canning line at Telluride Brewing Company, volunteering during canning runs for cases of beer. The perfect deal for someone living out their “ski bum” years.
Telluride Brewing quickly experienced explosive growth with award winning beers at GABF and World Beer Cup, hence needing to hire some more brewers. Luckily for Eli, the town of Telluride with a population of less the 2,500 lacked brewers. The brewmaster and owner, Chris Fish, gave Eli and a few others a crash course in brewing; it was here that he learned the ins and outs of brewing.
During this time at Telluride Brewing, Eli would come home and visit his brother while he was in college, and it was here that they would brew up batches of homebrew that was actually drinkable. Taylor would continue home brewing at his college house while Eli learned the nuances of commercial brewing.
While there was never a set plan here to open a brewery, the pieces seemed to be coming together whether the brothers realized it or not.

Following Taylor’s graduation of college, his homebrew setup with design inputs from Eli’s commercial brewing experience was taken to the next level. It was then that the idea of opening a brewery in New Jersey was beginning to be floated around within the family. With their dad Jim’s construction experience, Eli’s commercial brewing experience and Taylor’s homebrewing passion, it seemed like all the pieces were joining together to open a brewery.
In 2014, Eli decided to move home and search for a location to open a brewery with support from his family. During his time in Colorado, he saw how breweries were an integral part of Mountain Town communities throughout the state and wanted to bring that vibe to the people of South Jersey. This was the inspiration for the Oaklyn brewery, located in a great little downtown with a vibrant surrounding community— the perfect space to build out the “Colorado Vibe” in South Jersey. It was here that we opened our doors in 2016, growing production to over 6,000 Barrels in this tiny but mighty corner brewery. In 2020, it was clear that the brewery in Oaklyn alone was no longer going to suffice; the production brewery and tasting room in Barrington was built and opened in January of 2022 to allow for continued growth.
Now Tonewood operates both facilities and produces over 14,000 barrels of beer distributed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

QUALITY
Tonewood is committed to using the best possible ingredients, brewing techniques, modern brewing technology and equipment to produce the highest quality beers for our customers and for ourselves. Quality beer is just a part of this commitment. We want our beers to be a catalyst for quality in life and lifestyle for both our customers and for our team here at Tonewood.
COMMUNITY
Using our beers to better the local community surrounding our brewery and the markets we serve. Throughout history people have gathered themselves around a table; beer in hand; to forge relationships, exchange ideas, and build the very communities we live in today. Our beers will continue to serve as a positive force in the many connections that are made at these tables.
SUSTAINABILITY
Water, Hops, Yeast, Barley. Every ingredient we use depends on a happy, healthy planet. Every decision we make as an organization effects our impact on our environment. We recognize this and commit to limiting our impact in every way possible, even when it is the hard thing to do. We realize that without this commitment to sustainability, our core values of Quality and Community would be unattainable.
